Tiger Community Enterprise CIC - NottinghamStrEAT is coming!

We want to introduce our new social enterprise:
Tiger Community Enterprise CIC.  Set up to run activities and provide a range of services to Groups, Organisations and Companies to offer benefits and support.

What Tiger want to do is offer projects that provide practical support, showcases and sales opportunities for independent businesses, whilst engaging with the local community.

The first project will be Nottingham StrEAT.  An innovative new take on traditional farmers markets, food festivals and craft fairs, incorporating the new trend in streetfood that is currently sweeping across London and the southern counties and edging it’s way north.

The Nottingham StrEAT format will take the best elements of a market during the day – running Friday through to Sunday – bringing together the arts, food & drink and streetfood.  There will be a wide range of stalls celebrating independent producers, mainly from the local Nottinghamshire area, with a few special guests from further afield.

An ideal shopping destination in the heart of Nottingham City Centre, Nottingham StrEAT will take place in the Lace Market Square and potentially expand out around the Lace Market and Hockley area. Explore the stalls for that perfect gift from a range of Artisan Designers, something unique and handmade. Find something special for your dinner from some of the best Food and Drink Producers in the region.

A fabulous Recipe Booklet is going to be produced, both electronically and in print, featuring some great recipes submitted by local producers.  Giving you lots of ideas for things to cook at home.

There will be a marquee featuring a range of product and cookery demonstrations and family activities, or just take the opportunity to rest your feet whilst you get something to eat from some innovative streetfood vendors trading out of some interesting, quirky vehicles.

Community groups won’t be left out, they can take advantage of the space in the marquee and visitors can find out about the brilliant projects taking place around the county.  Get the opportunity to engage with people making a difference in people’s lives and all on your doorstep.

But the fun doesn’t stop there………  Saturday night sees the space turned into a Pop Up StrEAT Bistro.  Dine alfresco on a 3 course menu from a selection of streetfood vendors, dress for eating outside, but there will be heaters under the marquee to keep the chill off!  Wash it down with some fabulous locally produced soft drinks, coffee or go a little stronger and try some Real Ales or Craft Ciders from local breweries.  There will also be showcases of new music and other talent to keep you entertained.

Tiger will be running a volunteer programme for young people to support the staffing of the event and would welcome enquiries from youngsters or organisations interested in taking part.  There will also be the opportunity to achieve an Arts Award accreditation, a nice addition to the CV.

The event is an opportunity celebrate and promote local independent businesses and any businesses wanting to get involved are welcome to contact Tiger for more information, particularly those based in the Lace Market and Hockley area.

There is a lot going on, with a lot of participants and in order to launch with a bang Tiger Community Enterprise are running a Crowdfunding campaign to raise the money for the initial start up costs. Ensuring that the event, which will take place regularly, can have it’s own personality, with branding and the promotional and operating costs covered.  Help us spread the word to as many people as possible.  The Crowdfunding Campaign Launch will be announced shortly.

Tiger are also asking for partners who want to support the initiative, any organisations (local businesses, Universities, Colleges, support organisations) who feel they have something to offer, or want to get involved, should contact Tiger as soon as possible.

If you are loving this concept and we want you to take part, either as a consumer, trader, community organisation or support partner - make sure you are connected:
