Running projects that support the community
Whether it's a showcase opportunity for local organisations or a volunteer opportunity for individuals to build work skills; supporting enterprise and helping people to help themselves is at the heart of all we do.
StrEAT Food Stall
After working with the Green Kitchen on their food stall for a number of years Tiger finally set up their own community food stall in March 2018.
Now regulars at Papplewick Pumping Station Steaming events, we also pop up at community events across Nottingham and other events including Steampunk Filey.
Our traditional menu features Homemade Steak & Ale Stew, Duck Fat Roast Potatoes, BBQ Chicken, and Hot Dogs, and all profits support our community activities. This project has unfortunately been able to run due to Covid, however, we hope to be back up and running soon.
Tiger Green Textiles
Community is central to this project.
Working in and with the community, we take unwanted materials and recycle them into a wide range of craft, gift, and homeware items.
Learn and share skills, build confidence and self-esteem and make new friends all whilst doing our bit for the planet.
This project is based out of our community hub in Nottingham City Centre.
Our diary will include Community Workshops, Drop-in Sessions, Learn to Sew Classes, and working with community partners.
Tiger Work Skills
This pilot initiative offered voluntary work placements to individuals looking to build their work skills and readiness for work.
Working alongside Disability Direct Nottingham, and with funding from the Big Lottery, we offered places to young people including disabled people and the unemployed to support us with sales, marketing and events.
We are currently seeking funding to run another programme working with disaffected young people, focusing on their transferable skills and works skills to help them move forward in their career paths
Why not buy some of our great products?
We make some lovely recycled/upcycled items. We also have a Sustainable Living range that is growing.
Profits from sales contribute to the cost of running our community enterprise.
